Welcome to “Black Friday” where we highlight the beauty, strength and athleticism of black dancers, choreographers, and dance companies. We hope that this effort will shine a light on the beauty and diversity of dance.
“Black Dance is Beautiful”
Excuse us while we co-opt our own post to promote our event. The Black Dance is Beautiful Festival is a week-long event that will bring the diversity of black dance to Cincinnati Ohio.
Excerpt from mailing:
The Black Dance Is Beautiful Festival is a cultural event designed to show the diversity of dance in Cincinnati, and toward that goal, present an array of regional black companies among its global offerings. BDIB will provide free public performances, master classes, school residencies and neighborhood outreach and participation. The festival will include four regional dance companies: Studio Kre8v, Bi-Okoto Drum and Dance Theatre, The Berry and Nance Dance Project, and The Greene Works Project.
